My grandmother on my fathers side (Calista Louviere) wrote the poem "Time left to die" in 1962
I decided to write the music and record it to continue the legacy of her beautiful work.
My father recently passed and left me a few guitars and some musical gear.
i used my fathers guitar and microphones to record this very raw version of this song.
lyrics
an alley
of stout grown oak
winding a mile or more
til it paused on a shaded porch
wealthy of tale and lore
gleaming columns
and clinging vines
warmly embraced life
in gentler times
a time so well remembered
a time too quick to fly
memories born of
sweeter times
that life left to die
